SELF busting mad flavor

Gettin' splashy with this one- not sure if it's finished completely, but is digital art ever really finished? Started this with 2 others which bookend these wavy graffiti letters. I'm considering printing up a bunch of these pieces and seeing what they look like in real life.
Blokhedz animation background – city street

Thought I'd share this background from the chase scene at the opening of episode 3 of the Blokhedz webisodes on www.missiong.com, since you don't get to see all of the graffiti in the final animation.
Blokhedz animation layout – The CeeLo pan, part 2
There were 3 very talented animation directors on our project at emation studio in Seoul, South Korea. I will have to find out who was responsible for this shot. In any case, this is the original layout, which came with a layer which had horizon and vanishing points plotted out. From there I used a wide angle lens plug-in →
Blokhedz animation background – The CeeLo pan, part 1

A Cinema4D render, using the WFCam4D plugin to acheive the fisheye lens effect. The plug-in is a post-effect run from the render settings window. Cinema4D does not ship with a set of wide angle lenses, so WFCam4D was a life-saver during production when we were faced with doing a 180 degree 2D pan. The set is the basketball →
Blokhedz animation background – city chase

An animation background from the city chase section of Blokhedz webisode #3 on www.MissionG.com. Actually the first shot of the episode. Another case of spending time to put some cool throw-ups in the shot only to have them covered by the animation.
Character sketch – Graffiti writer – Juice

Another character sketch. A graffiti writer who goes by the tag Juice. Rockin the Lo hoodie and ready to catch some ups.
Character sketch – Graffiti writer – Blaze

This graffiti writer is catching marker tags in Liquidteks magazine #5. I'm calling him Blaze for the moment. High school graffiti writer. North Face and Air Max, so you know it's NYC.
I love it when you call me Big Poppa
Throw your hands in the air, if you're a true player. From the lyrics of the Notorious BIG, or the rapper I'll always remember as Biggie Smalls, a line from Big Poppa. Or rather, a late night meal at a diner, between the club and the hotel.
Scrap Yard Work Bums
The Scrap Yard Work Bums stickball team mascot. I think I'll call him Scrappy.
Tuff City Track Rats
Tuff City Track Rats stickball team mascot. The track rat gets an at-bat.
All City Redbirds
Mascot for the All City Redbirds stickball team.
Blokhedz animation background – Wild Dawgz turf
Blokhedz Episode 2 animation background. SIE HR, who is currently putting out Liquidteks NY graffiti magazine helped me out a bunch, as did Inkhead, of tagsareknown.com. I was running out of photos of graffiti to use for my texture maps and they hooked me up with the right kind of photos of the graffiti writers I wanted to →
Dungeons of Rap poster
Straight out the ... Dungeons of Rap, where fake (rappers) don't make it back. Well, that's the edited version. We tidied up the words of Nas to get it past the suits, but the idea is the same. Underground rap battle sponsored by Blok Murda Records, the mainstream commercial record company dominating Empire City and the WORLD!
Jasmine Flavors on the Wild Style Vine
Jasmine Flavors on the Wild Style Vine. 3 panel composition. Pop Fresh, y'all.
Cherry blossom ooze
For Roz, my "tender oozing blossom". Cherry blossoms for you, and some cherry flavored candy letters.
Badman a Boss
There should be more Jamaican gangster movies in the world. I got a title for one - Badman a Boss. This is a little in-story movie idea for Blokhedz. I made up a bunch of magazine names, movies, products, etc, for the fictional Empire City, home to Blokhedz. The image used in Blak's bedroom is the initial →
Shades of Grey – GALLERY

16 graffiti characters Hip-Hop posey stylee -B Boys, graffiti writers, rappers, what have you... No lines, just shapes. A highlight color and shadow color on top of a basic silhouette, captured within a border. Still working on these, and have some similar ones which are still on the drawing board.
